Development of fine motor skills and muscle memory is essential to successful writing, cutting, gluing, and many other tasks. The increased necessary use of iPads in distance learning prevents the repetition of these skills normally practiced daily in the classroom. This grant funds 22 Fine Motor Kits to be sent home with students, along with engaging, instructive lessons and games. Items in the kit include tweezers, pipette droppers and test tubes, and various small items to pick up such as pom poms. These fun ideas have already been tested on a few young students and received a big thumbs up, while noticeably improving both pencil grip and confidence.
