Three of his children moved, or are still moving, through the Hopkins School District. His oldest is now a professional civil engineer, practicing in Chicago. His middle child attends the University of Minnesota. Both were well prepared for that due, in large part, to the quality education and inspired teaching they received in this district. His youngest, attends Hopkins High School. Michael works as an attorney at a medium size downtown Minneapolis law firm, Lommen Abdo, P.A., focusing on transportation law. He is a graduate of the University of Washington (BA) and the University of Minnesota (JD).
Of all the organizations working alongside the Hopkins School District, he believes the Hopkins Education Foundation provides a unique opportunity to raise money, meet and be inspired by educators and administrators, work with a trove of talented, dedicated, and long term volunteers and staff, best of all, award grants to engage students in the education process. Michael is honored to help, along with many others, move the Foundation into its second twenty year era.
