Thanks to this grant, all Tanglen students will have access to two painted pickleball courts with portable nets, right on their playground. Pickleball is one of fastest growing sports in the country because it’s fast, it’s fun, and all ages and athletic abilities can play with equitable success. Students will learn the game as part of the Physical Education curriculum and then have plenty of chances to practice outside every day, weather permitting. The goal is to positively affect the social, emotional and physical health of the Tanglen community by promoting a culture of healthy fun that can also be shared at home among multiple generations. Tanglen staff members are excitedly anticipating an afterschool league of their own; happy minds and bodies benefit everyone!
