Spring Grants Will Continue to Support Staff and Students During the Pandemic

Attention Hopkins Staff: the same rolling Grant Application procedure will continue for the Spring 2021 cycle, open until Friday, March 26. Find all details HERE.

Undaunted by the current pandemic and the shift to distance learning, Hopkins staff and students continue to innovate and generate BIG ideas. Virtual grant presentations were made this past Fall on a rotating cycle, to better allow for IMMEDIATE implementation. See what your donations are funding HERE.

HEF also made a $50,000 COVID-19 inspired grant in May to support the Hopkins School District’s shift to distance learning.

Students Are Awesome

HEF recently awarded $3,184 for four HEF Awesome Fund grants to student clubs. Thanks to innovative students they are currently in various stages of planning and implementation, in spite of distance learning. Green Halls is busy purchasing supplies and growing the plants they will use to beautify and enlighten HHS. Tamp Action will provide menstrual supplies at HHS when school resumes, and in the meantime, continues to prepare for presentations to both junior highs regarding period stigma. Kendama Club members are practicing their game as they work to schedule an inspirational speaker to share with fellow students their on-point message of transforming adversity into growth. Although Gender and Sexuality Alliance had to cancel the spring Qrom (Queer Prom), they look forward to creating future empowering events for teens from across Minnesota.
